The Drapes were the first band to appear on
Schubas' outdoor stage on a hot
and muggy early August day.
From the moment of their first note, this unassuming trio ignited
the stage with a presence that couldn’t be ignored. Their music was infectious
– the type that could incite riots effortlessly! A blistering set provided an
injection of energy that I haven’t heard in awhile.
Could I pigeonhole their sound? Hardly!

Led Zeppelin,
Slayer & X. Now is that an amalgamation or
what? These are more reminiscences than direct references, though - as The
Drapes have a unique sound that defies categorization!
I can’t say enough good things about
this performance! The Drapes, whose name
was derived from the name of a group of thugs in the
John Waters movie
Cry Baby, includes Andrea Jablonski on bass/backup vocals,
Kevin McDonough on guitar/lead vocals and
